Freight Company looking for experienced Operations Controller to be based in the Johannesburg office. The candidate must have a proven track record within the Clearing & Forwarding industry. The candidate must be able to manage client shipments from order to invoicing. Responsibilities • Execution of the complete import and export cycle both sea and air • Quoting and costing o Compilation of logistics estimates in a reasonable time frame as stipulated by management. o Administration and control of shipping documents (SAD500, Customs EDI, Notifications etc) o Cost control (Landed cost control, cost valuation check, freight authorisations etc) o Ensure all files are completed and audited for accuracy before handover (payment) • Communication o Liaising with freight agents o Liaising with transporters, airlines, shipping lines & other third parties o Organising the dispatch, delivery and collection of all orders o Ensure billing documentation is completed correctly as approved by the client o Keeping clients well informed on the progress of their shipments • Resource Utilisation o Resource planning and allocation o Ensure profitable utilization of equipment and staff o Co-ordinating with warehouse for planned execution o Co-ordinating with warehouse to ensure operational control • Matric / Grade 12 • Relevant tertiary qualification will be viewed favourably • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a full function Freight Controller position • Valid South African Driver's licence
