Operations Manager - South Africa

Requirements A bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, supply chain management, or a related field is often required. 10 years of experience within the Logistics, Courier and ecommerce industries. 6 years of experience as an Operations Manager Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in project management and process improvement methodologies. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements. Responsibilities Fleet Management : -All vehicles up to date COF’s -Tracking systems are operational. -All vehicles service is serviced according to manufacture service schedules. -All equipment (TL/Cranes/Fridges) service is serviced according to manufacture service schedules. -All load bearing equipment to have valid load test certificates. -Movement of vehicles to national branches to ensure fleet mix per branch is adequate to customer need. Limiting operational costs is key. -Managed ongoing refurbishment schedule. Sale of Assets -Prep vehicles for sale. (Tyres, Diesel, Tags). -Prepping of vehicle sale list and distribution to potential buyers, market related per asset. -Measure profits against NBV’s (FAR), Retail and offers received. (Maximise profits on assets) -Conclude offers and ensure payment is received within 3 days of finalisation. FMR Administration on FD: -Loading and activation of contracts after client and BC has signed. -Termination of contracts -Accurate billing of contracts distributed to customers. Occupational Health and Safety: -Chairing of OHS meetings with SHE representatives and OHS team. -Ensure compliance with LRA. -HIRA certification in place. Procurement -Receipting and inspection of vehicle -Loading vehicle to FD after procurement documents has been received. -Loading procurement documents to vehicle. -Procurement and source vehicles as per customer requirements. -Issuing of PO’s to Suppliers and ensure accurate cost from dealership is received and costing to customers is profitable. Reporting: -Capture to Monthly Dashboard to measure company performance. -Analysis of fleet management related reports. -Daily measurement of utilisation of entire fleet to ensure maximum revenue is earned. -PnL on recovery items such as labour, R&M&T. -Maintain R&M to be in line with company policies. -Recoveries of vehicle damages and condition to customers/drivers. Ongoing Projects: -Clutch Lifespan (1,4,8 Ton) -Tyre Lifespan (1,4,8 Ton) -Overtime measurement nationally. (Ensure we achieve maximum productivity from mechanics and workshops) -Continued drive of processes and procedures are adhered to and updated with evolvement inline as business and markets adapt. -Monthly revisit cpk per vehicle, per ton and measure optimal vehicle life (in years or ODO) to keep cpk in-line with operational COS and minimise expensive repair costs.
