Operations Manager - Maitland

REQUIREMENTS
  • Matric
  • Past Experience in similar Management Role
  • Tertiary Qualification required
  • Exposure to Quality Management Systems (SANAS, ISO) advantageous
  • Good Communication and People skills
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Willingness to become a VO in our SANAS accredited Lab within 2 years (exams to be done)

DUTIES
  • Manage the entire operations/production process from procurement to delivery of products to customers.
  • Plan and report on the departments strategy (3-year, 1 year, monthly)
  • Attend Company MANCO Meetings each quarter and present for Operations Department with minutes thereafter.
  • Develop, design, and implement processes as to ensure that the production process can be tracked at any/every stage and that such processes promote and facilitate the smooth functioning of the department.
  • Conduct duties and responsibilities always keeping excellent customer service as critical measure.
    • Adequate Inventory Holding
    • Reduced Lead Times to Customers
    • Effective packaging
    • Meeting production targets
Inventory
  • Plan and execute all Forex Inventory Orders
  • Manage shipping of Forex Inventory alongside Shipping Agency
  • Ensure any pricing changes are communicated to MD promptly and facilitate a product pricing review with MD on any material pricing changes and/or forex currency movements.
  • Prepare Inventory to be booked into Sage alongside FM.
  • Ensure all Local Inventory orders are placed timeously, and delivery arranged.
  • Ensure that Samples (via Sample Store) is managed as to ensure all samples are tracked and accounted for.
  • Work alongside Technical Manager to ensure that Damage Goods (Damaged Goods Store and Recovery Store) are reported to MD monthly with comments and actionable tasks required to recover lost value.
  • Manage and report on all Slow-Moving Inventory where such Inventory is placed on an "Inventory for Sale" List and this list is reported on monthly to MD to track sales.
Stock Takes
  • Conduct Quarterly Stock Takes
  • Other stock takes such as Packaging, Consumables, Uniform, etc. - monthly.
Production
  • Plan and report on weekly dispatch.
  • Achieve and Report on all Targets as set.
Logistics
  • Plan and report on weekly product dispatch
  • Take Lead role in managing all product transport to customers using external transport service provider.
Other
  • Procurement, logistics and warehousing of all consumables for operations/technical department
  • Procurement, logistics and warehousing of all product packaging
  • Take Lead on HSE for Company
  • Manage the process of all product returns and ensure its documented and reported correctly.
  • Take responsibility for company warranty fund.
  • Manage company vehicles and sign off on all maintenance.
  • Assist in the Lab Accreditation assessment each year (SANAS).


Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
