Introduction Our client is seeking an experienced individual to join their team as a Forestry Operations Manager. Description KEY RESULT AREAS•Forestry production workflow management: identifying constraints in harvesting, transport and roads and exploring opportunities for production improvement•Operations management including management of Silviculture, Cattle, Harvesting, Transport, Roads, Workshop departments.•Mining relevant information and data from harvesting, transport, and roads operations to maximise throughput•Analyse production figures, prepare reports and make recommendations for improvement to senior management•Use statistical methods to analyse the many facets of production information generated by operations and can escalate the analysis to the business context•Create monthly reports to management on key findings and assessments•Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices•Perform quality controls and manage short term and long-term production KPI`s•Device ways to increase quality of customer service•Daily, weekly & monthly production trends monitoring and management REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS•Degree/Diploma Forestry. MSc Forestry is an added advantage. Management. REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE•Minimum 15 years’ production intense experience in Forestry operations management (Both Silviculture and Harvesting). At least 5 years of the 15 must be at senior management level or business unit level with demonstrated control of finances, budgeting and result reporting. RECOMMENDED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALITIES•Budgeting and cost control•Advanced Excel skills for large data management (pivots, dashboard, data analysis)•Project management skills•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills•In-depth understanding of Forestry operations and processes (Both Harvesting and Silviculture)•Safety and Risk management
