We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. Main Purpose of the Position: Ensure production to plan as per approved plan from IBP. Cost management within set parameters. Working Capital Management for as per set objectives. Work scheduling and resource management to achieve objectives. Degree in Chemistry or Engineering. 10 Years experience in manufacturing of which 6 in a pharmaceutical environment. Ensure production to approved plan is achieved: Production planning and scheduling. Adequate staffing and shift configuration to achieve production plan is in place. Communicate with IBP and Procurement to ensure raw material supply for production. Continuously interact with Quality and RP to ensure quality standards are achieved during the production process. Ensure health and safety standards are met: Ensure health and safety standards are maintained. Follow the HSE program as agreed. Ensure all ESG/HSE data is collected and reported as required in quality and frequency. Manage gross margin: Ensure overheads (fixed cost) are managed below budget/forecast to gain on conversion. Ensure production costs of sales are at standard or better. Be part of the pricing reviews to ensure realistic margin generation on all SKU's. Manage fixed costs: Ensure ownership and authorisation of expenditure at the correct level of management. Review fixed costs vs Budget/Forecast on a monthly basis and take corrective action where required. Look for continuous improvement to reduce fixed overheads. Ensure condition of the factory remains at required operating level: Ensure pro-active maintenance through an approved maintenance plan and routine. Ensure housekeeping remains on standard. Support innovative approach to problem solving in maintenance and repairs. Manage capex programme to cost and time: Ensure Capex projects are completed as per schedule. Ensure Capex benefits and deliverables are measured and proven post implementation. Ensure Capex cost is within approved budget. Manage working capital: Ensure stock levels are within targets set by interacting with IBP and external suppliers while also ensuring adequate raw material availability. Liaise and interact with Financial Controller and Credit Controller to ensure on-time collection of Accounts. Receivable and maintain the debtor's balances at current. Communicate with customers on outstanding debt as and when required and ensure timeous payment. Ensure timeous release of manufactured product to customer: Liaise with and co-operate with Responsible Pharmacist in getting product released for invoicing as per the SOP. Support efforts and remedial actions to speed up the release of finished goods. Performance management and HR management: Ensure the process of performance management is introduced and maintained with subordinates. Ensure proper Job Descriptions are developed and signed off. Set annual performance goals for individuals. Meet with subordinates on a monthly basis and review performance and required corrections or improvements if required. Submit a formal performance review to HR on request as per proposed Performance Management Calendar. Ensure HR Officer operate to standard expectations as set out in Job Description. Review and approve overtime schedules. Market Related
