Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to join an established and fast-growing Truck Transport company based in the south east of Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing a team of professionals, coordinating logistics, and implementing strategies to enhance overall performance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field - preferable Proven experience (10 years) in operations management within the trucking or transportation industry. Strong leadership and team management skills. In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using transportation management systems and other relevant software. Responsibilities: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of drivers, coordinators, and support staff. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Oversee the planning and coordination of transportation schedules to optimize efficiency and meet customer demands. Management of monitoring and tracking the movement of trucks, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Management of dispatchers to address any issues or challenges in real time. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and perform regular inspections and maintenance on the fleet. Address and resolve any mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction. Implement strategies to enhance customer experience and build long-term relationships Monitor and manage operational expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality. Optimize resource allocation to achieve cost-effectiveness and enhance operational efficiency. Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce operational costs. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track operational performance.
