With over 20 years experience in the Transport industry our client is in search to onboard a Operations Manager in Zambia. The Operations Manager has overall responsiblity for ensuring the efficient, profitable and professinal running of the Operations department of the client fleet and trucks. The scope of responsibilities of the Operations Manager includes management of the operations team on day-to-day activities, overseeing all tasks for the Operations Department of the Company, taking ownership, being cost effective and contributing to ensure the smooth running of the Operations department whilst protecting and promoting the Company brand/image. The successfull candidate must have a valid passport, credit and criminal clear record. Skills and Competencies: Leadership and Management Skills : Ability to lead teams, manage staff, and coordinate with other departments. Analytical Skills : Proficiency in analyzing data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize logistics and transport operations. Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with team members, clients, and stakeholders Problem-Solving Abilities : Aptitude for identifying issues and implementing effective solutions swiftly. Technical Skills : Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and other relevant technologies. Knowledge of Regulations : Understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements. Financial Acumen : Ability to manage budgets, understand financial statements, and drive cost-efficiency. Diploma or Degree in the following field Business Administration Transporttations & Logistics Transportation Management Industrial Engineering SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) certification Experience: >5-10 years management experience or similar working in the Transport industry.
