Position: Operations Specialist
Location: Kwa-Zulu Natal - North
Reporting Line: Logistics Manager
Job Summary: Responsible for managing and maintaining the company fleet including operations. Identify opportunities for business improvement. Provide assistance to supporting departments. Responsible for client management.
Minimum Qualification Criteria:- Grade 12
- 3-5 years of fleet maintenance management experience
- Qualified Mechanic/Mechanical technician with min qualification T3 or N5 certificate
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to analyze and improve operation processes
- Analytical thinking skills
- Strong problem solving and time management skills
- Self-sufficient, the ability to work with the minimal supervision
- Mechanical and technical skills experience
Critical Outcomes:- Perform all duties to the latest ISO 14001 and 45001 requirements.

- Perform strategic planning functions
Roles and Responsibilities- Act as an advisor in the technical, sales and operational functions, on request, for all specialised and complex activities on site.
- Survey the client site to ensure the vehicle is accessible to enter without incurring any damages to vehicle or client site. Oversee/Supervise special jobs at clients sites
- Assist drivers as an when required at the client site
- Identify key interventions for improvement in operations and technical management.
- Responsible for project management from initiation until completion.
- Act as liaison specialist with customers and provide technical support.
- Attend and conduct Supplier/Transporter Audits
- Manage and coordinate tender process with regards to logistics and bin requirements.
- Maintenance of the staff light driving vehicles (Bakkies/sales rep vehicles etc.)
- Complete Fleet maintenance of all trucks and trailers, inter alia pre-inspections and post inspections.
- Establish effective trailer drop and collect points which includes oversight of the satellite sites.
- Train and on-board new employees on operational protocols to ensure all staff members adhere to standard operating procedures
- Coordinate induction and occupations for site employees including training interventions.
- Oversee inventory management practises and improve as necessary
- Responsible for tyre Management, including procurement and maintenance
- Live vehicle tracking on fleet and light driving vehicles using the Auto Tracking System.
- Relief Site Supervisor across all sites as required in liaison with Depot Manager or Logistics Manager.
- Act as a rotational supervisor on weekends/standby for operations/fleet
- Perform any other duties as required by your designated manager.
