Introduction Our client in the agricultural industry is looking for a Packing Support Officer to join their dynamic team in Kirkwood. Description This is a Fixed Term position from 1 March – 30 September 2024. The criteria and requirements are as follows: Packhouse Experience is essential. Matric Certificate Valid driver’s license and own transport. Must be fluent in Afrikaans or English and have good communication skills. Experience of Paltrack will be an advantage. /-3 years’ experience at a junior management level / Supervisory level. Knowledge of citrus fruit is key. Must be innovative and detail oriented. Capable of managing multiple and high-priority tasks. Must be able to work unsupervised and good time management. Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various level. Strong organizational skills to ensure that daily operations run efficiently. Ability to manage processes effectively and meet firm deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Overview of key activities: Develop a weekly supply and delivery schedule per packing facility and share information with relevant parties. Measure plan VS actual and facilitate in improvement opportunities. Ensure that the production plan is validated and followed correctly. Ensure that the packing instructions are sufficient for the actual delivered fruit. Responsible for the accuracy of the intake and dispatch report and distribution to relevant parties. Responsible for fruit daily quality checks and share reporting with relevant parties (Fruit quality according to fruit specs, Fruit age, pack quality, pallet age). Ensure packed pallets meets quality and visual standards (Include information on labels). Assist packing facility with special packaging material requirements.
