Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar role, specifically in the manufacturing sector.
Deep knowledge of payroll best practices and South African payroll legal requirements.
Proficient with payroll software (e.g., Sage, VIP Payroll) and MS Office (especially Excel).
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant law.
Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
Perform account balances and payroll reconciliations.
Prepare reports for management on payroll activities and analysis.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll-related matters.
