NQF Accounting Level 5/ Bookkeeping Level 3
Responsibilities:
Request, collect and verify monthly salaries and wages information on a monthly basis.
Manage and calculate statutory deductions, fringe benefits and taxes and other deductions.
Prepare, processing and file records to SARS, DOL- COIDA, UIF via U-filing and Easyfile.
Initiate periodical payment instructions timely by providing payment details or processing via authorise payment processes.
Issues statements and invoices and maintain records.
Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
Calculate unemployment and severance payments.
Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll.
Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor.
Prepare and provide benefit claim applications with UIF and COIDA for employees.
Registration and management of payroll and software continuous
Other simplistic responsibilities will be discussed during interview and competencies.
Requirements and Skills:
Proven experience as payroll clerk or payroll administrator
Familiarity with general accounting principles
Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality.
Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations
Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software and websites (e.g. Pastel (Payroll), Easy-file (SARS), e-filing (SARS), DOL.gov.za (COIDA), U-filing)
Computer efficient in Ms Office (Word and Excel)
Exquisite math and numerical skills
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
NQF level 5 Accounting Certificate or equivalent; ICB in Booking Certificate L3 is a plus.
