Reference: JHB001644-KK-1 Position: Assistant Manager, Global Payroll Operations The Assistant Manager in Global Payroll Operations oversees the provision of Multi-Country Payroll Operate (MCPO) Services for medium and small clients, ensuring compliance and exceeding client expectations. They manage payroll project management, client escalations, and offshore teams, driving innovation and continuous improvement. This role offers opportunities for professional development and the chance to be part of a highly focused global payroll team Key Responsibilities: As an Assistant Manager in Global Payroll Operations, your primary responsibilities will encompass: - Engaging in the provision of Multi-Country Payroll Operate (MCPO) Services, overseeing the design, coordination, transition, and operation of global MCPO services tailored for medium and small-scale clients. - Delivering timely and high-quality payroll project management services, with a keen focus on technical and legislative compliance, governance, and service management to exceed client expectations. This involves regular communication with EY global payroll teams to ensure accurate and punctual delivery of payroll services. - Conducting thorough reviews of accuracy and correctness and collaborating with offshore processing teams to rectify any discrepancies. - Ensuring adept interpretation and application of payroll legislation onto client payrolls. - Collaborating closely with Global Payroll engagement teams to spearhead Payroll delivery initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include : - Serving as the engagement manager for midsized clients and overseeing implementations. - Supervising the global MCPO and SCPO delivery for multiple clients. - Handling client escalations and seeking assistance from senior team members/partners as needed, including conducting root cause analyses where applicable. - Ensuring the accurate and punctual delivery of payroll services for our clients. - Coordinating with offshore and Africa teams as necessary to fulfill client payroll requirements. - Proficiency in and application of global methodology payroll best practices. - Driving innovation and continuous improvement by implementing new methodologies or technological advancements that foster growth. - Leveraging Global Payroll Operate tools, technology, methodology, and processes. - Monitoring and reporting client delivery metrics in accordance with agreed SLAs. - Ensuring seamless reporting to clients and following up on action items appropriately. - Coaching, mentoring, training, and coordinating the activities of offshore teams. Skills and Attributes for Success : Required skills for this role include: - Ability to implement a centrally managed global outsourcing model, utilizing global payroll tools to enhance client control, visibility, and compliance. - Proficiency in governance of payroll operations, ensuring adherence to a global methodology to track end-to-end processes and provide subsidiary governance throughout the client lifecycle. - Strong managerial, coaching, and professional development skills. - Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for problem-solving and attention to detail. - Proficiency in project management. - Subject matter expertise in understanding payroll rules and legislations in a multi-country environment, staying abreast of current payroll knowledge and legislation. - Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and client service skills. Qualifications : To qualify for this role, you should possess: - A Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma, with a relevant post-graduate qualification preferably in accounting, business, or finance (preferred, not mandatory). - 6 years of relevant payroll and/or tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry, preferably. - Knowledge of technology systems such as Payspace, SAGE300, Workday, and other payroll solutions is advantageous. - Strong numerical acumen, including analytical abilities and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail. - Exposure to client-facing roles in a payroll capacity. - Experience in project management with global or multinational payrolls.
