Job Description: Our client is a leading player in the metals industry, committed to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility. They are currently requiring a Payroll Specialist to join their team based out of the North West Province, who will be responsible for processing of approximately 400 – 500 permanent employees initially, with a stead projected increase in headcount. Responsibilities: Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 400 permanent employees. Ensure accurate and timely disbursement of salaries, wages, and benefits. Handle statutory deductions, taxes, and compliance with relevant regulations. Proficiently manage the SAGE payroll system. Regularly update and maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Stay updated on South African labor laws and tax regulations. Ensure company payroll practices comply with legal standards. Generate and analyze payroll reports for management review. Provide insights into payroll-related metrics and trends. Address and resolve payroll-related queries and discrepancies. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve any issues. Identify opportunities for process improvement within the payroll function. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements: Qualification and Skill Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Professional certifications in Payroll or related areas will be an added advantage. Minimum 15 years of experience in payroll processing. In-depth knowledge of the SAGE payroll system. Familiarity with South African labor laws and tax regulations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Benefits and Contractual information: Permanent contract. Reloation required.
