Introducing an Exciting Opportunity at JD Tech - Planner RoleWe are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandise Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating merchandise plans, forecasting sales, and optimising inventory levels to maximise profitability. The Merchandise Planner will work closely with the buying team to develop assortment plans and monitor performance metrics to ensure that sales goals are met.You will be a great fit if you possess the following:We're looking for candidates with extensive retail knowledge, skills, and behaviors that align with our company values and objectives. You should possess strong numerical and analytical prowess, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities. To be successful for this role you should have experience with forecasting and trend analysis. Be detail-orientated and have a can-do attitude, coupled with drive and energy, will be key to your success. Additionally, a solid understanding of retail planning, supply chain management, and financial analysis will be advantageous. Are you a passionate Planner with the following qualifications and experience?Qualifications:To be considered for this role, you should have a matric certificate, with a Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business management or a related fieldProfessional Expertise:A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in merchandise planning within the retail sector is required.Merchandise experience within FMCG is beneficial, along with a proven track record of managing stock files to meet budget and targets.What will you be doing?Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain merchandise plans based on historical data, current trends, and sales goals - Forecast sales, inventory levels, and markdowns to ensure optimal inventory turnover - Collaborate with the buying team to develop assortment plans and make buying decisions - Monitor and analyse sales performance, inventory levels, and margin goals - Identify opportunities for growth and recommend strategies to increase profitability - Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery and availability of products - Review and adjust merchandise plans based on market conditions and business goals - Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to align on business objectives and prioritiesIf you are a strategic thinker with a passion for retail and a strong analytical mindset, we would love to hear from you.
