PLC & VSD Automation Technician – Durban

An Industry leader in Industrial Automation and Technical Support in the Upper Highway Area has a vacancy for A PLC & VSD Automation Technician

Requirements for the position:

Siemens S7 knowledge (Basic)
PLC Knowledge (How to set up communication between VSD and PLC, ladder logic, code sys)
VSD knowledge
Servo Knowledge (Advantageous)
CAD Experience (Basic)
Eplan Knowledge (Basic)
Relevant tertiary qualifications.
3-5 Years of PLC programming experience

Main responsibilities (but not limited to these only}:

Conduct Site investigations for VSD installations.
Generate Quotes for panel builds: parts, specifications, communication protocols, labour requirements & overall function. Define scope, benefits, exclusions & submit to management for approval.
Generate Electrical drawings progress & method of control overview and explanation.
Research & specify equipment specifications for panel use.
Manage Projects or Panel Builds from start to finish, ensuring build and delivery is completed on time as per timing plan (Small scale VSD Solutions)
Design plc functionality and translate into streamline, functional plc program (Low to intermediate skill level requirement).
Design the functionality of HMI and implement (Low to intermediate skill level requirement).
In-house & site commissioning of panels.
Telephonic support for Inovance PLCs and VSDs
Respond to breakdowns, repair, or resolve in another manner (replace, renew or remove).
Receive and action instructions from management in an efficient manner.
Follow up on client queries.
