Poultry Manager - Pietermaritzburg
Supervising and completing the following activities/tasks:
- Washing
- Catching
- Muck out
- Collecting samples for the lab
- Vaccination Vaccination Team reporting to Farms Assistant Supervisor
- Collecting orders
- Disinfection Swabs
- Collecting Shavings in PMB
- Washing: Inspection of houses after washing is complete. Ensuring the houses is properly cleaned by the washing team. Ensure the sites put the Trihydro in the header tanks at each house. (after catching before washing)
- Catching: Monitoring the catching of birds. Checking that the catching crates are cleaned well.
- Muck Out: Inspecting the houses after litter has been removed and making sure it is cleaned properly.
- Samples: Dropping off samples and collecting them to take to the lab. This is for all sites.
- Vaccination: Make sure that the vaccination team gets their vaccines. Random spot checks and inspection with them to see if they are doing it correctly.
- Collecting orders: Collecting orders/items from PMB for the sites/office as needed on a regular basis
- Disinfection: Shower in at the sites to take disinfection swabs together with the staff from Innovation. Taking swabs in each house as required by the lab.
- Collecting of Shavings: When additional shavings is needed, collect from suppliers in and around Pietermaritzburg.
- Diesel: Receive diesel delivery when required. Deliver diesel to sites and ensures that diesel book is completed and signed.
- Taking employees to the clinic when needed.
- Chick Placement and Shavings: If all other duties are completed, check on chick placement and shavings.
- Should the managers not be available: chick paper and heat sox, spares etc. should be delivered to the sites.
