ELIGIBILITY Suitably Qualified Candidates CLOSING DATE 18.03.2024 REFERENCE NUMBER UMO 11/24 External SALARY TCOE: R1 174 257 p.a DEPARTMENT Transport Planning & Network Management DIRECTORATE URBAN MOBILITY Principal Professional Officer- Transport Economist Requirements B degree/B Tech or Advanced Diploma in Transport Economics Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience including modelling, pricing strategies, market survey designs, econometric modelling, transport cost and benefit analysis and travel demand management, planning and implementation Experience in working in local government contexts will be an advantage Valid driver’s license Key Performance Areas Conduct comprehensive economic research and analysis on transportation systems and policies Provide and facilitate specialised economic appraisal input to transport strategies, policies, programmes and projects Collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders Using analytical tools to guide evidence based decision making Monitor and evaluate the impact of transport programmes, projects and policies Project manage projects to effectively meet the service delivery imperatives of the particular business unit or function area Governance and management of contracts/ projects in compliance with the Contract Management Framework (CMF) of the City and to ensure project success by minimising project budget overruns and lack of service delivery How to Apply External candidates: APPLY ON LINE VIA www.capetown.gov.za/careers Internal staff: APPLY ON LINE VIA SAP PORTAL Certified copies of qualifications must be available on request.
