Private Markets Associates - Cape Town City Centre
Our client, a leading global asset management company has been investing in private and opportunistic credit, launching 20 vintages. Their private markets platform includes emerging market (EM) infrastructure debt and has been expanding to target diversified investments across less crowded markets. Strategies include EM impact and infrastructure financing, EM transition investments, European small to medium-sized enterprises and lending to Africa’s regional champions. Their large team of private markets investment professionals have extensive experience and are supported by a highly skilled operations platform supporting investments across several and varied countries.
You will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be a member of the Global Marketing team.
This team comprises of colleagues in Cape Town, London, New York and Hong Kong and is responsible for helping to create relationships of value with clients, globally. Its largest teams include investment marketing, proposals, digital and creative services. Marketing works most closely with sales, product development and the investment group.
Responsibilities:
- Support sales teams with asset raising efforts:
- Monitor the investor pipeline, compiling traction reports and communicating to senior management on progress
- Act as a key point of contact for product information requests from prospective investors and sales teams
- Work closely with marketing teams to ensure appropriate content is developed to support sales team asset raising efforts
- Be the point of contact for Placement Agents to ensure they have access to the right marketing information
- Manage asset raising virtual deal rooms/data rooms (VDRs):
- Manage content published in the VDR’s – ensure content is approved, compliant and appropriate for investor access
- Manage Investor access to VDRs – includes ensuring appropriate legals in place before access is granted
- Monitor VDR analytics and share reports with senior management
- Ensure marketing materials posted to VDRs meet compliance requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, business, information systems or a related field
- CFA, CAIA, or related qualification is advantageous
- 3+ years of industry experience, preferably in private markets (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Debt, Real Estate, or Infrastructure)
- Experience with VDR platforms and their functionalities or a strong background and experience facilitating data-related services
- Basic understanding of the investment process and related documents within private markets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proven record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
