Process Engineer - Paarl

Our client, a leader in the water and wastewater treatment industry, is looking for a Process Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, optimizing, and ensuring the efficient operation of water and wastewater treatment processes. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions to enhance water quality and sustainability, contributing to the company's mission of delivering environmentally responsible water treatment solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement process improvements and equipment upgrades to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment operations.

  • Conduct process and equipment simulations, modeling, and analysis to identify optimization opportunities.

  • Develop and evaluate new treatment technologies and processes, including pilot studies and scale-up from bench to full scale.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure seamless project execution and operational excellence.

  • Prepare detailed process design documents, including P&IDs, mass balances, and process flow diagrams.

  • Support the preparation of proposals, technical reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, including monitoring and reporting requirements.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for operational issues, optimizing performance, and reducing downtime.

  • Participate in safety and environmental audits, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the organization.

  • Ensure health and safety legislation and contractual obligations pertaining to health &
    safety are adhered to throughout the project.

  • Read and understand the latest ISO9001 requirements for the procedures pertaining to the Business Support Division.

  • Follow our client's implemented SHEQ systems.

  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, consultants and contractors on technical aspects.

  • Interacts with partners and other companies in the group

  • Produce presentations and/or represent the company at trade fairs and seminars

  • Attend all training seminars pertaining to this position.

  • Perform any other duties required by your designated General Manager.

  • Communication and Organizational skills.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Computer Literacy (Google Workspace and MS Office) and related tools required.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc or B.Eng (Chemical) Degree.

  • ECSA Registration as a Candidate Engineer would be an advantage.

  • Three to Five years experience as a process engineer in water treatment, turnkey projects or a similar field.
