Our client, a leading stainless-steel products producer, is seeking a dynamic Process Engineer (Metallurgy) t o join their team in Mpumalanga. As a Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality, throughput, and efficiency. Responsibilities include: Determining product characteristics based on customer or specification requirements. Developing process parameters to meet these requirements. Setting standards for product realization, including rules and procedures. Monitoring product and process quality and throughput. Setting up process parameters for new products. Making disposition decisions on non-conforming products. Implementing business systems to support process optimization. Training metallurgical Engineers in Training (EITs). Solving technical, system, and metallurgical problems. Collaborating closely with production for day-to-day support. Recommending solutions to process-related issues. Conducting process optimization and quality investigations. Monitoring process performance and managing non-conformances. Requirements: BSc or B Eng. in Metallurgy, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering. 1-5 years of experience in metallurgical or related engineering fields. Knowledge of steel/stainless steel products and/or smelting/refining of other materials. Experience in heavy/large manufacturing processes (e.g., pyro-metallurgy, casting, hot rolling/forming). Proficiency in quality assurance and control. Familiarity with project management principles. Experience with POLC (Plan, Organize, Lead, Control) principles and QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale) framework. Additional Skills: Technical acumen and analytical mindset. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and adapt. Room for growth within the organization.
