We are recruiting for a Process Engineer for our client based in PE within the automotive industry. Job Purpose To provide process engineering and project support, as well as to continuously contribute to the improvement of existing processes and procedures within the field of expertise. Cost and Financial Control (10%) KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (35%) • Researches new technical solutions (Electronic, Embedded). • Researches possibilities of prosed technologies (Electronic, Embedded). • Develops prototypes for testing and researched solutions. • Designs and programs embedded systems for developments. • Executes costing and BOM's development projects. • Manages R & D projects. • Research conducted / performed. • New solutions / technological advancements proposed. • Prototypes developed. • Systems designed and programmed as per specification. • Project plans developed and implemented. PROJECTS (15%) • Designs solution to various projects. • Designs electrical and control systems; electronic and schematics for projects. • Designs and programs PLC's and computer applications for projects. • Executes costing and BOM's for projects. • Manages projects. • Project plans in place. • Feedback provided to stakeholders on project progress and issues. • Project administration updated and readily available. • Projects compliant with departmental policies and procedures. FACTORY BREAKDOWNS (10%) • Assist on breakdowns regarding PLC, electronic and embedded systems. • Debug and fix electronic PCB boards. • Support rendered during Breakdowns. • Technical equipment operational. • Timelines adhered to. PROCESS ENGINEERING AND DOCUMENTATION (10%) • Performs feasibility studies on all aspects relating to processes and equipment. • Performs statistical analysis of processes. • Keeps abreast with technological developments / advancements in the industry. • Assists with process-related problem solving and root cause analysis projects. • Develops and updates process-specific checklists. • Develop and manage Core Tools for areas responsible for. • Updated process documentation. • Create relevant documentation for new processes. • Studies performed on processes and equipment. • Outcomes of studies and statistical analysis utilized toward process improvement initiatives. • Advancements and developments in process engineering researched and findings utilized toward process improvement. • Process engineering projects initiated and implemented successfully. • Plans, checklists available and updated. • Core tools developed. • Cost saving initiatives presented and implemented. COMPLIANCE (10%) • Operates within controls and procedures in order to ensure the integrity of the company. • Identifies and monitors risks within own department and area of responsibility. • Assists in the maintenance of a risk register, report discrepancies or areas of concern to management. • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and policy frameworks to prevent fruitless, wasteful and irregular expenditure. • Compliance with applicable controls and procedures. • Risks identified and monitored – risk register in place. • Risks reported to Manager. • Availability of documentation and records. • Cost and expenditure monitored – waste minimized. CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGEMENT (10%) • Maintains effective working relationships with customers (both internal and external) towards rendering highest quality of services. • Represents the company in meetings with relevant stakeholders. • Identifies and solves problems creatively whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity in line with company core values. • Reports to Management on internal stakeholder related matters. • Maintains relationships in accordance with policies, procedures and legal, as well as stakeholder management system requirements. • Stakeholder / customer satisfaction index. • Compliance with applicable legislation and regulations. • Problem resolution in a timely manner (comebacks minimized). • Compliance with applicable legislation and regulations. • SLA requirements upheld. COST AND FINANCIAL CONTROL (10%) • Contributes to the budget preparation process. • Promotes and communicates the effective, efficient, economical and transparent use of financial and other resources. • Monitors and controls expenditure against budget and ensures spending occurs within budgetary limits and company financial guidelines, report deviations to direct Manager. • Explores opportunities to control and reduce costs. • Budget input provided and implementation successful. • Cost saving initiatives presented and implemented. • Waste prevented and expenditure minimized QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (NQF 7) EXPERIENCE MINIMUM Up to 5 years' experience in Production / Operations / Process Engineering in a Manufacturing environment.
