Procurement and Supply Chain Director - Johannesburg
Our client has an opportunity available for a Procurement and Supply Chain Director. Requirements: Master’s Degree in Economics and Business or Supply Chain Management. Additional higher education in Purchasing or Supply Chain. 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in the use of major brand MRP or ERP systems. Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Responsibilities: Maintain knowledge of the market in addition to current prices and fair rates. Plan policies and procedures for efficiently, honestly, economically and productively purchasing goods for production. Monitor, review and analyze bids and quotes with suppliers including the negotiation of service level agreements. Negotiate with key suppliers and searching for new business opportunities. Ensure that strategy and tools are in place and that they are optimized to source at the best conditions. Supply Chain management including supplier relations and global supplier management. Manage supplier contract negotiations. Lead inventory management activities. Lead the development and implementation of supply chain strategies to support company goals. Work with commercial teams to optimize process and support their business objectives. Assess and monitor supplier quality and key performance indicators. Responsible for the import and export department. Ensure accurate financial information submission. Develop short term and long-term budgets. Expand collaboration with important stakeholders including sales, quality and manufacturing. Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
