Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join their team in the food production industry, based in Kommetjie, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the food sector, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies to ensure the highest quality and cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the food production industry, ensuring alignment with the company's business objectives.
Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, focusing on quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with food safety standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, particularly those specializing in food ingredients and packaging.
Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best deals while maintaining quality standards.
Monitor market trends and conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities within the food industry.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including food safety regulations.
Oversee inventory management and ensure optimal stock levels to meet production demands.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure seamless procurement operations.
Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, market trends, and supplier performance.
Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field.
Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
