Reference: JHB011612-HP-1Our client, a leader in the global oil and gas industry, is looking for a Procurement/Material Specialist (in South Africa) to be part of a team directly responsible and accountable for the delivery of best-in-class capital project Please note that the interviews will take place in person in South Africa only. In addition, only candidates with a BSc or BEng qualification will be considered. Experience in the GCC or Saudi Arabia is highly preferred Must have worked for a leading project house on oil and gas projects (not petrochem) Design, construction and project management experience (not technical operations, maintenance etc) Key Responsibility Review overall Material Specialist activities. Provides direction and expertise in the planning & implementation of P&SCM materials control support for the design & construction of capital projects. Assess and implement procedures incorporating the company's materials control practices, planning for Contractor materials mobilization & demobilization, and coordinating the disposition of unneeded materials. Participate in planning for contractor materials mobilization & demobilization materials. Provide work direction to all materials support staff including one or more CMS I or II in both short term problem solving & long term materials support strategy planning. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in Bachelor of Arts Business & Management OR Bachelor of Science Industrial Technology advanced degree. 7 years experience as a Material Specialist Including at least 7 years experience in project design, contract administration and inventory management & control.
