Introduction A logistics company. Description Main purpose of job:You will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality. It is of paramount importance that you negotiate well and ensure that all purchases comply with company standards. Key Performance Indicators:Outputs and Responsibilities:Procurement: Process purchase requisitions / orders within purchasing authority. Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies. Invite, assess, and award supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals. Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased. Establish and negotiate pricing and contract terms and conditions and maintain supplier relationships. Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports and price lists. Work with relevant stakeholders to determine procurement needs, quality and delivery requirements. Co-ordinate all logistics involved, utilizing internal suppliers, in the receipt and delivery of procured items. Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers Assist in the development of specifications for equipment, materials to be purchased. Administer contract performance, including receipt, delivery, warranties, damages, and insurance. Comply with all Company processes and procedures, regulations, and standard. Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues, management, suppliers, and clients. Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures. Profile Inherent Key Requirements of the Job: Education: Matric or equivalent thereof. Diploma/Degree in Logistics Experience: Four (4) years previous experience as procurement officer or related Position. Supplier vetting essential. Minimum 3 years contractual experience Skills: High level of computer literacy in MS Office Suite Excellent verbal and written communication Excellent interpersonal skills Administrative abilities High level of attention to detail Analytical and Numerical Abilities: Ability to work under pressure. Ability to organize, plan and prioritize. Ability to work to strict deadlines. Ability to process information. Ability to resolve problems promptly. Ability to plan and organize.
