My client a leading and well known company based in Ottowa South, Durban requires a competent and experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team.
CORE PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible to manage the acquisition of goods and services necessary for the business to operate efficiently.
The Procurement Specialist is tasked with analysing market trends, assessing supplier capabilities, implementing best practices to streamline procurement operations and support the business goals and objectives.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Thoroughly analyse the products needed considering factors such as quantity specification, innovation, quality standards and delivery timelines
Ensure signed agreements in place with current and new suppliers
Regularly compare the pricing, terms, and performance of current suppliers against industry benchmarks and competitors
Leverage negotiation skills and market knowledge to secure favourable pricing, discounts, or rebates from suppliers
Analyse the factors that influence the cost of the products or services managed
Review open purchase orders, follow-up and resolve with the supplier
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelors degree in Business, Economics & Supply Chain Management
At least 5 years experience in a similar role within the print, packaging, manufacturing industry
Technical understanding of raw materials substrates/media
Demonstrates strong ability to understand new material, substrates/media
Proven track record to drive competitive quality sourcing and cost saving
High level business acumen
Experience with imports
Must be Criminal Clear
Must be Credit Clear
Must reside in the Greater Durban area
