Job Number 72587 Job Type Permanent Job Title Product Manager - Pharma Computer Skills MS Office Suite Industry Medical City Midrand Province Gauteng Job Description Reporting to: Group Product Manager Main Purpose of Job: The role is responsible for the management of product portfolio and all aspects of marketing of Pharma products, namely IV medicines and standard solutions Key Performance Areas: Marketing Responsibilities: Preparation of marketing plans annually Preparation of marketing strategies on a quarterly basis with input from the Group Product Manager, Marketing Director, Scientific Support Manager and relevant sales managers Planning and execution of promotional activities i.e. congresses, marketing campaigns and advertising Financial Management: Preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecast for product portfolio by liaising with the Group Product Manager, Marketing Director and Managing Director with regards to final numbers Analysing market and sales data and prepare Medium Term Strategies in conjunction with Group Product Manager Expense control - promotional budget and marketing expenses through discussions and decision making with Group Product Manager regarding congresses, advertising campaigns, medical press and other promotional related activities Profitability of the company – set prices and margins of products in conjunction with Group Product Manager, Marketing Director and Managing Director Pricing and price list, annually – the final decision is with the Managing Director Continuous stock forecasting and management in conjunction with the Group Product Manager and Demand Managers Corrective Action: In the event of adverse deviations from budget, the Product Manager must ensure that timeous action is taken by the relevant parties to bring performance back on track. It is the Product Manager’s responsibility to highlight the need for whatever action is required, and to follow up to make sure that the action is taken. Customer Liaison: Maintain key customer contact by quarterly in-field visits to different regions and spending 6 days with representatives Maintain key opinion leader program by maintaining contact with 15 Opinion Leaders as own customers Strategic Planning: Evaluation of future opportunities by investigating market and analyzing available market research data Evaluate new business opportunities and direction by analyzing field intelligence Administrative: Compile monthly reports on market related issues and sales to present to the Group Product Manager and Marketing Director Product Complaints: Liaise with the Responsible Pharmacist regarding product complaints. Ensure follow-up of representatives to the customer to ensure good customer relationships and internal product related information flow Scientific Support/Training: Scientific training of sales force on new products added to portfolio – in conjunction with Scientific Support Manager Basic training of newly appointed employees in other department To apply immediately for this position click here: www.unique.co.za/candidate_registration_1.aspx?JobID72587&referrerUnique Inherent Requirements Required Level of Education: ESSENTIAL: Degree in health sciences Business studies and/or marketing an advantage Skills & Experience: 5 years in a sales environment in a related field 3 – 5 years as a product/brand manager in a related field (management of product portfolio and all aspects of marketing of Pharma products, namely IV medicines and standard solutions) Undergraduate or postgraduate marketing qualification, as well as experience in digital marketing would be an advantage Competencies: 1.
