Production Engineer - Cape Town City Centre
Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as a key liaison between suppliers and developers, facilitating effective communication on critical issues including but not limited to engineering design changes;
- Play a key role in Development / R&D procurement-related activities;
- Produce and update cost estimates for development activities to contribute to the companys budgeting process
-. Provide support for product owners to keep data packs updated;
- Create and maintain packaging artifacts as required
- Review procedure documents from a production perspective and actively contribute to their improvement and optimization
- Develop and execute verification procedures, including Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), Hardware Test Procedures (HTP) and Qualification Test Procedures (QTP);
- Perform minor support roles within the company, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BTech Degree / Advanced Diploma in Electronic Engineering or related disciplines.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Industry experience in an electro-mechanical production environment;
- Familiarity with an industry-standard ERP, ideally Odoo.
Recommended Skills and Experience:
- 2-3 years' experience in an electronic assembly production environment
- Familiarity with production procedures and documentation
- Knowledge of verification procedures (ATP, HTP, QTP) is desirable
- Mechanical design skills and experience with packaging artifacts are advantageous.
General Skills
- Ability to learn fast and absorb new information quickly;
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on large projects;
- Ability to work independently;
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High standard of communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
