Plan, organize, and coordinate activities and programs aimed at the efficient operation of the Wet mill (Steeps, Co- products, and wet mill). The wet mill is critical in the sustainability of the mill and operational excellence strategies to achieve budgeted targets in plant capacity utilization, efficiencies, quality, utilities and cost control whilst engaging and retaining talent. The key outputs this role contributes to the business: Financial • Achieves results through others with optimal use of resources. • Gives input to budgeting, monitors cash flow and reporting. People • Clearly communicates business values, Ingrain strategic goals and departmental goals. • Responsible for the performance management of team members and providing appropriate feedback relating to departmental goals and team members. • Responsible for developing, coaching and mentoring team. • Delegates tasks/areas of responsibility in accordance with team strengths and development areas. Business Processes • Planning and distributing of team activities. • Streamline work instructions. • Ensure team operates within SHERQ standards. • Mapping and drives activities/workflow processes to ensure value add in department. • Ensure adequate availability of tools, resources (incl. raw materials) and training to the team. Customers (internal & external) • Understand customer needs and supplier contributions to drive operational results. • Listen to, accurately captures and actions customer expectations, ideas and concerns. • Builds effective working relationship with key stakeholders. Sustainability • Ensures team focus on safety, health, environment and community activities and masures. Qualifications: BSC or B Tech Chemical Engineering / BTech Operations Management Knowledge: Plant & process knowledge Interpersonal/communication skills Planning & organising.
