Production Shift Foreman
My client based in Durban is urgently seeking a suitably qualified persons for the position of Production Foreman - Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the management and performance of a shift in the Process Department - Rawhouse.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Actively participate in and support an inclusive and team orientated service to the Mill.
• Understanding of relevant labour legislation, Company policies and procedures.
• Plan, organize and control all resources at one’s disposal to achieve work objectives.
• Manage the performance of team members in order to achieve work objectives.
• Compile, control, review and present budgets.
• Understand and contribute to the business beyond own functional area.
• Build positive customer relationships with all stakeholders of the process i.e. Engineering and Administrative teams.
• Ensuring that raw sugar is produced according to customer specifications.
• Understanding of socio-political trends and cultural diversity.
• Deal with the impact on the running of the department.
• Implement, support and guide shop floor continuous improvement processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Matric, preferably with Maths and Science.
• Tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
• Courses on laboratory modules, evaporators, clarification and pan boiling will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a sugar processing environment, of which minimum of 3 years were in a
process supervisory role.
• Computer literate, with ability to use Microsoft Office, PI historian, Maximo, Kronos and Apex system and online training modules.
• Knowledge of raw sugar milling.
• Knowledge of OHSACT, NEMA, ISO 9001.2000 and HACCP food safety management system.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations will be an advantage.
