One of our well known mining clients is currently recruiting for a production specialist PURPOSE OF THE JOB To be the continuous improvement driver of the Metallurgical process through reporting on and analysing production performance, making recommendations and implementing projects in a safe manner Requirements SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the SHEQ Toolbox Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status Ensuring that OHSA safety and health standards are maintained, and ZERO harm is sustained Adhere to all related SOP’s, PTO’s and CTO’s as per Training Matrix per position, SHEQ and company standards CUSTOMERS Process Quality: Achieve Process quality and budget Ensure Customer Satisfaction BUSINESS PROCESSES Process Reliability: · Update process strategy · Implement Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) findings · Assists the production Superintendent in updating the production strategy Process Management: Achieve process budget Ensure that Production Budgets are achieved, and that product quality is maintained Analyse and interpret process data and facilitate process changes CMMS: Update SAP Master Data Report process measures Project Management: Implement improvement projects Management of projects, which includes control of project budgets and delivery of results and recommendations on time Control and management of continuous improvement of metallurgical processes at the furnaces Ensuring proper integration of improvement projects Training and coaching of subordinates Financial Management Work overtime as and when required Continuous Improvement: Analyse complex data and interpret trends in respect of performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement Work with relevant stakeholders to identify problems and review procedures to improve efficiency and quality of systems, processes and products Implement and maintain appropriate monitoring mechanisms to successfully manage business improvement initiatives Capital Budgeting: Conduct feasibility studies on identified opportunities Prepare detail scope of work and cost estimates for improvement projects Complete and motivate detail Capital Applications Monitor success of completed improvement projects GROWTH Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence Research, analysis and development for continuous improvement of metallurgical processes at the furnaces. This includes technical report writing, mass and energy balance development and presentation of results.
