General Profiling ( www.generalprofiling.co.za ) is a well-established, industry-leading steel service center, based just south of Johannesburg's CBD in Amalgam with over 300 staff and sales in the hundreds of millions. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Programmer. Receive job cards and program the different jobs on the relevant machines. Ensuring that the machines are constantly running. Priority job cards given to a programmer must be done with urgency. Follow instruction given by the Programming Manager. All instructions written in the nightshift book must be done as priority. Priority job cards given to a programmer must be done with urgency There are priority customers, if these job cards are given it must be done immediately and on separate plates, unless otherwise instructed. Shortages that are authorized, must be done immediately Shortages must only be done if the correct paperwork is supplied. Repeats of parts are not to be used. All parts will be considered as new parts and must be taken from the appropriate drives. All nestings that are done must be placed at the appropriate machine by 4pm Monday – Thursday and 1pm on Fridays. This will allow the Programming Manager to prioritize the nightshift cutting. Nightshift material list must be given to the forklift driver's before 13:00 Monday – Thursday and 11:00 on Fridays. Nestings and jobs that are not supposed to be cut must not go down to the machines. Jobs that require material must be nested first so that material can be ordered before 11:00 the following day. Instructions on job cards must be followed NQF level 4 Qualification (Grade 12) Degree / Diploma will be an advantage MS Office knowledge Auto cad Preferably with 1- 3 years working experience. Excellent communication skills. Well versed in e-mail etiquette and MS Outlook with good writing skills. Advanced Excel. Ability to prioritise and work under pressure. Analytical & problem-solving skills. Proven experience on at least one the following 3 programs: Sigmanest, Tru-Tops, Tru-Tops Boost Willingness to work shifts. Proactive, initiative, Planning and organising, Punctuality, Teamwork, Conflict management. Monthly package will be market related, depending on experience and track record.
