My client is currently requiring the services of Project coordinators in Pinetown, Newcastle and Empangeni Pinetown x 1: 1. Georgedale 88kV Refurb, Georgedale 132kV Refurb, Georgedale 400kV Refurb and various others in the Pinetown area EMP x1: 1. Impala Athene Hillside Lines Project, Impala-Nseleni Line, Impala Steelwork, Impala TRF 1&3, and various project in the Empangeni area Newcastle x1: 1. Ingagane SS, Chivelston SS, Drakensburg SS, Bloodriver SS and various project in the Newcastle area 1. Support the provision of construction project management standard services throughout the project life cycle by: 1.1. Providing support to monitor and report on the progress of the construction programme. 1.2. Providing support for the alignment of the project brief to the Eskom procurement policy. 1.3. Implementing the requirements of the client service level agreement (SLA). 1.4. Maintaining records of all construction project management decisions. 1.5. Assisting with the preparation of all stage gate documentation. 1.6. Supporting the preparation of the detailed design and construction documentation. 1.7. Providing support during the evaluation of tender documentation. 1.8. Providing support during the closeout of the project. 2. Coordinate and report on construction activities to ensure effective site contract and cost management is achieved by: 2.1. Preparing regular progress reports (site meetings, submissions of required reports, regular visits to construction sites, reports on variations on scheduled activities including expenditure). 2.2. Chairing of site meetings as delegated by management. 2.3. Assisting in evaluating the variation orders or additional work. 2.4. Verifying that contractors submit offers for claims or extra work within contractually stipulated period. 2.5. Communicating to management on all decisions and agreements arising from meetings, discussions, letters,notifications (verbal or written) having contractual significance. 2.6. Ensuring that overall site quality assurance takes place. 2.7. Assisting with the integration and coordination of all relevant stakeholders, documentation, and other resources on site. 2.8. Validating invoices and claims submitted by contractors. 2.9. Monitoring and minimising the cause and effect of claims due to late access, late material delivery, etc. 3. Provide construction management support during the project planning by: 3.1. Supporting the development of the project plan from concept to completion. 3.2. Verifying that project activities are scheduled. 3.3. Verifying the costing of all activities in line with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). 3.4. Consulting and finalising milestones with key project stakeholders. 3.5. Ensuring the implementation of the design freeze and project baseline. 4. Coordinate the timely supply of project material by: 4.1. Monitoring and ensuring that the progress of orders are as per schedule. 4.2. Liaising with Eskom stores and suppliers in respect of deliveries to site. 4.3. Providing assurance to material requirements planning (MRP). 4.4. Maintaining and reviewing material reconciliation on a periodic basis. 4.5. Monitoring and verifying that all excel material is returned to stores. 5. Coordinate all site personnel and contractors functions by: 5.1. Monitoring and reporting on site progress on projects and identified risks. 5.2. Liaising and communicating with contractors in respect of site progress. 5.3. Reporting to the manager construction project management on planned versus actual progress. 6. Facilitate and coordinate all outages required for the commissioning where required by: 6.1. Supporting the planning of outages in consultation with all project stakeholders. 6.2. Verifying and communicating the availability of all site handover documents and inspection sheets. 6.3. Verifying the submission of as-built drawings and single line diagrams by the contractors. 6.4. Implementing the commissioning and outage plan. 6.5. Verifying and communicating the commissioning of new assets and transfer to the client. 6.6. Reviewing and advising on the commissioning, handover and signoff of the project. 7. Provide construction management support to project engineering by: 7.1 Providing site information regarding local and peculiar situations which may influence designs. 7.2 Identifying design errors or site conditions which may conflict with design requirements, obtain modified designs and drawings and ensure that contractors are updated. 7.3 Providing input to the constructability plan and designs. 8. Comply to all Eskom and site related governance and safety, health, environment, risk and quality (SHERQ) requirements by: 8.1 Reviewing and advising on the project safety, health, environmental, quality (SHEQ) file for compliance prior to commencement of construction. 8.2 Ensuring compliance to Eskom governance related to processes, procedures and systems. 8.3 Ensuring compliance to statutory requirements such as the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act within the project environment. 8.4 Ensuring compliance to SHERQ processes and training requirements. 8.5 Implementing recommendations from safety audit reports. 8.6 Supporting the culture of safety (zero harm) and health within the project environment by promoting the aims and benefits of proactive safety and health interventions. 8.7 Initiating audits in order to ensure that safety and health risks are managed and that all risk exposures are treated at operational level and ensure the follow up and management of incidents. 8.8 Advising and evaluating contractor compliance to the approved safety plan and project environmental approval (EA) conditions. Additional Requirements (over and above what is provided for in the contract) Must have 4x4 vehicle for travelling on servitudes and access roads. Laptop, 3G, PPE, Cell-phone, Camera, measurement equipment, medically fit, are requirements 3 Years minimum experience in Project and Construction Management. Must have a National Diploma in Built Environment/ Commerce / Human Sciences/Project Management/ Civil or Electrical/ BBA at NQF 6 with 240 Credits
