Our client, a leader in the global oil and gas industry, is looking for a Project Engineer - Petrochemicals (in South Africa) to be part of a team directly responsible and accountable for the delivery of best-in-class capital projects by constructing and deploying electrical systems. Please note that the interviews will take place in person in South Africa only. In addition, only BSc or BEng will be considered. Experience in the GCC or Saudi Arabia is highly preferred Must have worked for a leading project house on oil and gas projects (not petrochem) Design, construction and project management experience (not technical operations, maintenance etc) Key Responsibilities : Leverage expertise in Petrochemical projects and provide the appropriate actions for the team to follow in all phases of the project. Ensure timely resolution of project issues arising in all phases of the project development. Ensure safety measures are implemented in the projects’ execution. Implement company initiatives in projects and business processes under the division. Prepare/Review monthly project performance reports showing the status of design, material procurement, construction, milestones, commitments, payments, charges, variances from standards, waivers and problems and present them to higher management. Assure that variances from standards are minimized. Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and schedule. Attend project meetings e.g. progress, stakeholders, design review, value improvement, etc. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering You will also obtain a PMP , PgMP or equivalent certification Fifteen years’ experience in a project management field related to refining and petrochemical industries with a specialty in Petrochemicals Including Seven (7) years of experience as Sr. PE or project manager in design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operation with values ranging from $500MM to $billion.
