We are currently operational in seven countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Senegal, and Ivory Coast, and have recently launched in South Africa and Tanzania. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager who knows how to effectively strategize, direct, monitor projects, and lead their team to success. The jobholder will ensure adherence to set timelines, budgets and ensure compliance with relevant quality and safety standards. Project Planning and Initiation: Develop comprehensive Project Execution Plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budget estimates. Work with stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives. 2. Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring collaboration and effective communication. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and project requirements. Mentor team members. 3. Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints. Monitor project expenditures and financial performance. 4. Risk Assessment and Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively. 5. Contract Negotiation and Management: Assist in negotiating and finalise contracts with vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and terms throughout the project lifecycle. 6. Schedule and Timeline Management: Develop project schedules and timelines, ensuring alignment with overall project goals. Monitor progress against established milestones and make adjustments as needed. 7. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet industry standards and specifications. Conduct regular quality assessments and address issues promptly 8. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders, including government agencies, community representatives, and regulatory bodies, in compliance with business policies. Address stakeholder concerns and keep them informed of project progress. 9. Resource Allocation and Management: Efficiently allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Optimize resource utilization to ensure project efficiency. 10. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permits 11. Project Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation. Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders. 12. Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget effectively. Assess the impact of changes and communicate adjustments to the project team and stakeholders Other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Technical or the Country Coordinator. Requirements 1. Education: Degree in Engineering; preferably Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 2. Experience : Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in power system installations (preferably renewable energy) Proven experience as a project manager, preferably in the energy or power sector. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with a high level of commitment. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of energy industry regulations and standards. Must be able to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure. Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in particular) Proficient in project management tools and software (MS Projects in particular) 3. Language Proficiency : Proficiency in English 4. Character: Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with a high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure. Passionate about quality of workmanship Good communication skills and ability to lead and work well in teams. Discretion in dealing with sensitive information. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands, passion for renewable energy Demonstrate a keen eye for detail. Able to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure 5. HSE certification is an added advantage. 6. Flexible to travel domestically and internationally. 7. Must demonstrate proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Projects in particular) 8. Must demonstrate proficiency in solar design software such as HOMER, PVsyst, AutoCAD, and Helioscope.
