PROJECT MANAGER: FCL - Pretoria

Key Responsibilities: Provide high quality Project Management support to the FCL department Planning the work to be done, getting the necessary personnel, and assigning tasks to relevant stakeholders Working within budget by adequately estimating costs and ensure timely completion of projects Procure and allocate resources in line with requirements for projects to be completed Managing both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime, such as poor planning designs, and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project Facilitate strategic discussions and deliver targeted business objectives of projects Work with end users and subject matter experts to gather requirements through interviews, focus groups, and other information-gathering methods Developing detailed end user requirements, system documentation and workflow procedures Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements Facilitate regular project status meetings, document meeting minutes, identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities, follow-up on all action items as required and obtain timely review and signoff on all deliverables Work with key stakeholders and project team members across all departments and practice groups to ensure strategic project alignment, develop and manage project scope, scheduling expenditure and prepare annual budget, build and manage project teams and successfully deliver results on time and within budget Tracks the progress of the program / Project, facilitate project transitions and lessons learned discussions, prepares and presents the progress report to senior management and ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately Ensure that all work meets quality standards according to drawings, manuals and standards Manage and execute all design, procurement and construction activities and sub-contractors related to projects (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation) and ensure safety Review drawings, designs, project technical documents, compile FDS’s and accept design and execution responsibility for the project. Ensure that all medical equipment is moved safely and placed in the correct locations as per the Lab’s requirements. Manage and executive all tenant installation activities including liaising with lab equipment supplier and service providers. Facilitate decommissioning, dismantling, transporting, assembling and recommissioning of lab and office equipment. Liaise with landlord and make sure that lease agreements are in place. Minimum requirements & key competency: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Built Environment) NQF LEVEL 7 Certificate Project Management Drivers Licence 5 years in Infrastructure Program /Project Management experience Project scheduling and budgeting experience Demonstrated ability to assess business issues and quickly turn that information into action Demonstrated experience with change and risk management processes and methodologies Proven track record in business requirements management and high level solution design in relevant domain Extensive computer knowledge Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures Knowledge of business principles Sound knowledge of the laboratory related environment (desirable) Interpersonal skills Ability to plan work effort and manage project schedule and priorities Ability to identify or recognise the skill sets of internal resources Attention to detail and accuracy skills Planning and Organising Computer literacy Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written) Customer service skills Presentation and Administrative skills Demonstrated ability to present complex concepts and strategies effectively to senior management. Demonstrated self-starter, highly motivated, with a successful track record of being able to work without direct supervision. Demonstrated ability to negotiate third-party vendor contracts.
