A 2-year contract position has become available for a Project Manager - Economic Inclusion to join our dynamic team, based in Johannesburg. Main Purpose of the Role The Economic Inclusion Unit is responsible for developing innovative and impactful interventions that address systemic and structural exclusion that impact the ability of young people to access opportunities within the economy. Our work focuses on ecosystem capacity building to drive transformative change with a focus on the green economy, localisation and infrastructure development. This role will primarily support the implementation of the Installation, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) Initiative's focus on the youth employability programme. It will require working within areas of Township Economy and SMME development within the context of the IRM hub/Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges. Further it will involve coordinating across a range of key partners and stakeholders including key ecosystem players. This role is responsible for planning, co-ordinating and delivering selected activities related to the economic inclusion programme implementation with a particular focus on the Township economy stream of the IRM Programme comprising of SMME Development acceleration, incubation and Entrepreneurial TVETS. Provide overall support to the implementation of the Installation, Repair and Maintenance (IRM) Initiative's focus in enterprise acceleration and entrepreneurship development for Township economies in IRM hubs. In consultation with the nexus of SMME development, coordinate across a range of key partners and stakeholders including Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and business advisors, LED officers, SED officers, potential and existing SMMEs, among others. Oversee the execution and roll out of the entrepreneurial TVETs offerings to targeted TVET Colleges. Provide support to the delivery of the ecosystem mapping. Responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering selected activities related to the economic inclusion programme implementation. Drive project preparation, coordination and implementation of activities. Drive effective coordination and engagement with service providers, delivery partners and strategic stakeholders. Provide support in project budgeting, delivery and project invoicing as per the organization's policies and procedures. Ensure financial compliance on all project budgets with the appropriate organisational policies and procedures. Monitor and manage project risks as per formulated project implementation plans. Support the programme by applying effective and efficient project management methodologies (governance and procedures). Staff management and capacity building. Monitor and manage the project budget. Ensure all relevant project data is collected and stored accordingly for purposes of Monitoring and Evaluation. Write and collate communications, proposals and reports. Event planning & monitoring, communications, and project advocacy. The successful candidate must be an agile self-starter, great communicator and team player who is able to problem solve and innovate. Project management, stakeholder engagement and project financial management are core requirements of this role. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience. Experience working in SMME Development, Entrepreneurship and/or Enterprise and Supplier Development as project manager. A Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Economics, Business Studies and/or Sustainable Development. A Masters Degree in a relevant field will be a distinct advantage. Well-developed writing skills are essential. Solid project management experience is essential. Must be passionate and knowledgeable on the socio-economic landscape in South Africa.
