My client is looking for a Boat Project Officer (The position is in Pretoria, part of the work will take place in Cape Town) Responsibilities : Project Management on Boat & Trailer Programmes: • Managing boat build programmes; • Management of boat manufacturing programmes; • Management of boat research and development projects; • Management of boat and trailer budgets effectively; • Planning and providing product service and after sales service for boat programmes delivered; • Preparing costings and budgets for quotations for boats and trailers; and • Providing reports on all boat related issues. Execute Boat & Trailer contracts by, inter alia: • Project management for each boat and trailer contract • Developing costings and input for boat and trailer quotations; • Ensuring project budget plans are in place and risks identified; • Ensuring a close control and monitoring of budget spend against project plans; • Ensuring project cash flow documents are timeously updated; • Identifying potential suppliers for projects. Managing the relations with contracted suppliers, both international and local; • Sending out Requests For Quotes (RFQ); • Evaluating RFQs and negotiating terms and conditions; • Ensuring the Operations administration system is provided with regular information for overall Operations reports; • Managing suppliers deliveries against the project plan; • Managing the verification and acceptance of goods and services supplied; • Managing and directing sub-contract suppliers and ensuring that quality control is ensured; • Managing the administration and implementation of client Acceptance Procedures in South Africa and abroad; • Managing and directing the packing and preparations for shipment as required under each contract; • Commissioning of goods and services in client countries and in South Africa; • Providing technical support for technology transfer programmes; • Supporting training programmes for clients in South Africa and in the client country; and • Providing regular project reports to the Director Operations and to Senior Management Project management capability. • Technical knowledge of boats (not ships). • Able to interact with engineers, technicians, boat builders and component suppliers. • Computer Literate MS Office (Word, Excel, Conditions: • Valid driver's licence • Own Vehicle Personal Specifications: • The ability to work as part of a team • Be self-driven & pro-active My client is willing to consider a strong project manager with knowledge or interest in boats R18000 - R25000 per month based on experience.
