A privately owned construction company specialising in building and civil projects is looking for a dynamic Project Planner/Programmer to join their team. Please ensure the MINIMUM Requirements are met before applying. Main purpose of the position: Responsible ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects while adhering to client objectives and project requirements. This includes overseeing all aspects of project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting, as well as facilitating effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders. Will also drive the efficiency, quality, and alignment with project goals throughout the project life cycle. Key Performance Areas: Project Planning and Scheduling: Provide overall project planning support, ensuring alignment with client objectives and requirements. Prepare schedules for client acceptance, incorporating feedback and adjustments as needed. Regularly update progress and reporting on schedule adherence, milestones achieved, and potential risks or delays. Construction Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring systems to track progress against planned schedules and milestones. Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project plans and quality standards. Generate timely progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and mitigation strategies. Facilitate communication between project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to address issues promptly. Tender/Bid Preparation Programme and Evaluation: Develop tender documents that clearly define project requirements, specifications, and evaluation criteria. Manage the tender process, including pre-qualification, issuance, and evaluation of bids. Conduct thorough evaluations of bids based on technical capabilities, pricing, and other relevant factors. Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and finalize agreements with selected vendors or contractors. Programme Management/Project Life Cycle Management: Lead projects through various stages of the Front-End Loading (FEL) process, from conceptualization to execution. Establish project governance structures and defining roles and responsibilities for project team members. Monitor project progress and performance against key milestones and deliverables. Implement effective change management processes to address evolving project requirements or scope. Procurement Planning Tender/Contractors Programme Preparation and Evaluation: Develop procurement strategies aligned with project goals and objectives. Prepare tender documents and contractor programs that clearly outline project requirements and expectations. Evaluate contractor proposals and negotiating contracts to secure the best value for the project. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards throughout the procurement process. Project Support Services: Provide comprehensive support services to project teams, including administrative, logistical, and technical assistance. Manage project documentation and information flow to ensure accessibility and accuracy. Coordinate meetings, workshops, and other project-related activities to facilitate collaboration and communication. Offer training and guidance to project team members on project management methodologies, tools, and best practices. Planning Consultant and Implementation: Provide guidance and support to project teams on utilizing for efficient project planning and scheduling. Project Planning Support to Owner's Team (Incl. EPCM and Contractor's Schedule Review. Claim Assessments): Collaborate with the owner's team, EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) firms, and contractors to review project schedules and assess claims. Provide expert analysis and recommendations to resolve scheduling conflicts and claims effectively. Tenders and Project Execution Planning and Implementation: Assist in tender processes and project execution planning for streamlined project management. No criminal record. MINIMUM Requirements: Experience: 5-7 years in a project planning role within a built construction environment.
