We are hiring We're on the lookout for a Projects Manager - Logistics to co-ordinate amd ensure the efficient and effective supply and flow of timber on road and rail inot the KZN Mills in accordance to their various specification and timber demands while managing the woodyard stock holding and material handling contractor in the Sappi Mills. As a Project Manager - Logistics you will be responsible for: . Collect official timber orders from line managers and proactively compile sales plan on procurement supplies in line with the mill demands and according to budget and forecast Capture orders on Timber Control System (TCS) in line with the sales plan in order to warrant mills, transporters and suppliers' alignment Monitor and control major suppliers' performance versus order by means of the daily, weekly and TCS reports to ensure rateably timber deliveries and order adjustments where necessary. Communicate stock levels, production performance and turnaround times (TAT) daily through the respective communication channels to align daily deliveries. Keep a record of rejects, analyse trends and institute corrective and preventative actions to minimise timber losses, reduce turnaround times and minimise disruptions at the mill. Carry out site visitations to assess sidings and depot stocks to ensure rateable and within-specification timber supply. Compile weekly and monthly forecasts in line with quarterly forecast and annual budget plan to monitor the rate and cost of delivery. Report on critical timber supplies and deliveries and ensure this is communicated to the Resources Manager, Project Managers and Hauliers which might lead to the review of the delivery plans. Handle all source key requests from major suppliers in line with the chain of custody (CoC) requirements to guarantee compliance. Assist with internal audits by supplying required information for quality assurance and conformance with the chain of custody (CoC). Ensure and/or assist with the booking of online slots for timber supply into various markets in order to align deliveries with sales plan. Ensure strong working relationships are built through continuous visitation and technical advice to promote Sappi as a market and/or supplier of choice. Co-ordinate with all stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of all forestry What are we looking for? National Diploma in Forestry or related qualification A Logistics and/or Transport Management qualification will be advantageous. At least 5 years of experience in logistics, forestry management and/or timber procurement What's in it for you?
