Strip vehicles and compare damages to the quotation.
Advise the Estimator of discrepancies and update the job card as needed.
Use expertise to decide whether to repair or replace parts in conjunction with the Estimator.
Sign for new parts received from the store.
Coordinate the painting of parts with the paint shop and manage the timeline.
Fit all parts to vehicles with the required level of expertise, ensuring quality control.
Discuss delays with the GM and Estimator/Workshop Foreman.
Work overtime as required.
Maintain a clean and organized workshop.
Assist with moving vehicles within the shop and Wash Bay.
Comply with parts processes, ordering parts only as per job cards and direct orders from the Workshop Foreman.
Follow up on parts shortages and discrepancies not listed on the job card.
Accurately track all back-ordered parts, keeping information current.
Attend departmental meetings for effective communication.
Provide feedback to frontline staff on individual customer vehicle parts during WIP meetings and discuss performance against targets in departmental meetings
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12)
Qualified Automotive Body Repairer (Red Seal Certificate)
Minimum 3 years of experience in an automotive body shop
Own transportation
Preferably reside in the Helderberg area
Strong planning and organizing skills
Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Passion for excellence
Results-driven mindset
Knowledge of mechanical repairs
Experience with general automotive body repair equipment
