This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Assistant with a keen interest in food safety and new product development to assist with the daily operations of the innovations and quality department activities. Key functions of the role: Conduct all incoming raw material and end product quality analysis and evaluations and document and distribute end product COAs Daily verification of raw material receiving, product dispatch and repacking records, including inspections related to these tasks Verification of daily, weekly and monthly quality and food safety related records, including but not limited to factory and storage area cleaning activities Conduct regular hygiene and housekeeping inspections, process quality control and pest control inspections Systematic filing of all food safety documentation and records Completion of customer questionnaires and fulfilment of customer documentation requests Raw material approvals Food Safety team member with the aim to act as the food safety team leader deputy Conduct internal audits of pre-requisite programs and management programs Assist the innovations with end product shelf-life assessments, including analysis and evaluation of samples at assigned intervals and shelf-life extension evaluations Assist manager to manage the operation and improvement of the selected food safety programs Present and prepare training interventions to Cape Town staff members on PRP's/HACCP Key requirements: Diploma Food Technology / BSc Food Science & Technology 1-2 years' work experience in a food manufacturing environment FSSC 22000 and Internal auditing training
