Quality Control Inspector - Painting (Petrochemical Plant)

Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Control Inspector with a minimum of 5 years' experience in painting within the petrochemical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities on site, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications. Key responsibilities include issuing quality records, identifying non-conformances, controlling storage and certification of consumables, and assessing surface preparation and paint application processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Execute Specific Inspections:
  • Conduct inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities on site, adhering to established procedures and specifications.
  • Issue relevant quality records and document inspection findings accurately.
  • Identify and report any non-conformances to the Quality Control Supervisor, providing detailed reports as necessary.
  1. Control of Storage and Certification:
  • Manage the storage of consumables and ensure proper certification procedures are followed.
  • Maintain records of storage conditions and certification documentation for audit purposes.
  1. Surface Preparation and Paint Application:
  • Apply knowledge of surface preparation and paint application techniques to ensure materials are adequately protected from environmental decay and corrosion.
  • Assess the application process and newly applied protective layers, identifying any defects or areas of concern.
  • Evaluate coating systems and identify typical coating damage or failures, conducting inspections on both newly prepared substrates and established installations.
  1. Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Demonstrate expertise in principles of corrosion, corrosion protection, selection of coating systems, and surface preparation methods.
  • Familiarity with paint constituents, application methods, paint specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Utilize measurement and evaluation techniques to assess coating performance and environmental conditions related to application.
  1. Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in painting within the petrochemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of corrosion principles, coating systems, surface preparation methods, and paint application standards.
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections, identify non-conformances, and provide detailed reports.
  • Proficiency in evaluating coating performance, identifying defects, and assessing environmental conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in quality control or painting (NACE Level 1)
