Job Description:

Weld sample preparation.
Cutting and polishing of the samples
Record and maintain welding inspection results that were witnessed and prepare associated report.
On time completion of all applicable first off, roving, and last off inspections
Update all results to the relevant databases, part status updates to First off Trays and Machines.
Escalation of out of specification parts through the deviation process
Calibrate and verify gauges in accordance with the documented requirements.
Update and maintain the gauge calibration database. Ensure that all damaged and illegible gauges are removed and replaced.
Develop and issue Rework instructions.
Facilitate meetings and maintain action plans to eliminate and reduce reworks.
Review and record suspect parts in accordance with the internal and customer specific requirements and relevant SOPs in the areas.
Raising of quality awareness in terms of scrap concerns (Quality Alerts, Visual Aids)

Job Requirements:

Weld Inspection Certification (Advantageous)
Core tools Certification (Advantageous)
Read and understand technical drawings and/or plans.
5+ years experience in quality in an automotive environment
2+ years experience in weld inspection and evaluating within an automotive environment.
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry
