Job title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Cape Town Job Overview: Hire Resolve's client, a small construction company with loads of experience in the industry, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town. The company is building a reputation of high quality and achievements in high end residential houses with 3 build teams doing 2-4 jobs at any given time. The company has a good reputation for renovating old buildings, and often work these contracts. The company has an established commercial system which needs updating, improving and running, creating a need for a quantity surveyor in this section. This is a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a team of experienced and passionate professionals. Responsibilities: Proficiently compile and submit tenders, showcasing competency across all related areas. Utilize excellent site monitoring abilities to oversee project progress and prepare monthly claims accurately. Manage day-to-day commercial operations with subcontractors, ensuring efficiency and compliance. Handle final accounts and their preparation meticulously. Possess a solid grasp of industry standards and commercial obligations. Exhibit confidence in implementing and monitoring new systems, while adeptly managing expenses and interpreting costs. Report directly to the Business Owner, being accountable for all daily Quantity Surveyor responsibilities. Demonstrate essential personal qualities such as dynamism, problem-solving skills, proactive nature, initiative, drive, methodical approach, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Requirements: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification Experience in the building industry of at least 5 years as the main contractor Quantity Surveyor Experience working on commercial projects Understanding and experience of JBCC contracts and relevant responsibilities under these contracts Skilled in problem solving and communication with relevant stakeholders Valid driver's license Contact Hire Resolve for you next career-changing move.
