Hire Resolve is currently supporting a prominent construction firm located in Cape Town in their search for a Quantity Surveyor to become part of their team. In this role, you will take charge of overseeing all financial aspects of construction projects, starting from initial estimations and extending to final cost evaluations. Collaborating closely with the project team, your primary objective will be to ensure projects are executed within budget constraints and meet the client's expectations. Responsibilities Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects. Creating and maintaining budgets for ongoing projects. Performing risk and value management. Preparing and analysing tender documents. Monitoring the progress of projects and reporting on cost variations. Ensuring compliance with contractual agreements. Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Procuring materials, subcontractors, and services required for construction, while ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to quality standards. Providing regular financial reports to project stakeholders, including detailed breakdowns of costs and expenditures. Identifying and mitigating financial risks associated with construction projects. Identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising project quality or performance. Negotiating and settling final accounts with subcontractors and suppliers upon project completion. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. SACQSP professional registration Several years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry, preferably on large-scale projects. Proficiency in relevant software such as CostX, CCS, or Candy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Ability to work effectively within a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and relevant legislation. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Willingness to travel and work on-site as required by project demands. Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethics within the quantity surveying profession.
