Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Solar Industry) Location: South Africa We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with specialized knowledge and experience in the solar industry to join our client's team in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and controlling costs within solar projects, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities: Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates for solar projects Analyze project specifications and develop cost-effective solutions Work as part of a team to ensure that the requirements of the client are delivered. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure cost control measures are implemented Conduct detailed cost analysis and benchmarking to identify areas for cost savings Prepare regular progress reports and financial forecasts for senior management Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best prices and terms Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with specific experience in the solar industry Proven track record of successfully managing costs within solar projects Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in budgeting and cost control software like CCS Candy Proficient in the use of MS Office and MS Projects Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Professional certification or registration as a Quantity Surveyor is preferred Contact Hire Resolve for you next career-changing move.
