Receptionist / Concierge - Humansdorp

PLEASE NOTE: This Position is based near Jeffrey's Bay (Eastern Cape)

This position will include weekend / public holiday hours

Responsible and accountable for:

The Concierge/Receptionist plays a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for providing courteous and professional assistance, offering information about club amenities, and maintaining a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the lobby and reception areas. By efficiently managing enquiries, administrative tasks, and supporting various departments including hospitality, food and beverage, the Concierge/Receptionist contributes to the smooth operation and enhances overall guest satisfaction

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Welcome and greet all guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
  • Assist guests with inquiries regarding club amenities, services, and activities, providing accurate and helpful information.
  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
  • Provide support to food and beverage department, events, housekeeping, administration, maintenance, and other departments as needed.
  • Manage restaurant bookings, including receiving, organising, and communicating reservations effectively.
  • Update databases for local restaurants, guest houses, and other relevant establishments in the area for guest information.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the lobby and reception areas at all times.
  • Receive and coordinate incoming and outgoing general emails, ensuring timely responses or forwarding to relevant personnel.
  • Administer weekly and monthly driver transport sheets, maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintain and update the events calendar on Teams and Glovent systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Update marketing material for food and beverage outlets, such as table talkers, to promote offerings effectively.
  • Stay informed about club policies, procedures, and activities to provide guests with up-to-date and relevant information.

Skills and abilities:

Matric

Must be able to work weekends and public holidays

Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.

Excellent written and verbal abilities in two South African Languages (English and Afrikaans)

Digital literacy: including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrates a genuine desire to assist guests and fulfil their needs, ensuring a positive experience
