Reference: NFP013746-CAM-1Driving excellence, one policy at a time. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Reconciliations Specialist to join our team on a 9-month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations of reinsurance accounts, with a focus on maintaining financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.Responsibilities: Perform daily reconciliations of reinsurance accounts, including cash, premiums, claims, and commissions. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between company records and reinsurer records promptly. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, claims, underwriting, and IT teams, to ensure data accuracy and resolve reconciliation issues. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis related to reinsurance activities. Participate in audits and provide documentation and support as required. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices related to reinsurance accounting and reconciliation. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. SAIPA or SAICA articles would be beneficial Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting or reconciliations within the insurance industry. Strong understanding of reinsurance contracts, principles, and processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
