This is an exciting opportunity for a Level 5 Regional Manager to join a leading South Africa retail brand The role of Regional Manager is to lead, manage, and equip the Area Managers within the Region, to implement and achieve specific Operational objectives in line with the Operational Strategy, within the defined geography—Gauteng & Limpopo. The Regional Manager will do so by utilising resources effectively and efficiently Responsibilities: Business Results: Ensure that objectives in terms of availability, visibility, volume, quality, including product freshness are achieved for the Region Coordinate implementation of brand programmes in the Region, quickly reacting against competitive threats if necessary Ensure all in store execution targets within Region comply with the Operational Strategy Ensure the implementation of the communication plan within the Region and is in line with cycle execution guidelines Ensure the implementation of retail planogramming and merchandising coverage within Operational Strategy Ensure that all outlets are compliant with the company and BAT's International Marketing Standards and all Corporate Guidelines Leadership Results: Strategic: Manage, inform, develop and motivate the Area Supervisors in order to deliver operational activities that are superior to the competition regarding both core and added value services Work closely to and adapt operational programmes developed by the Business Development department to the Region Propose goals and KPIs for the programmes implemented in the Region and track ongoing results Ensure that Area Supervisors are well-trained and aligned with the company and BAT's International Marketing Standards and all Corporate Guidelines People: Improve all identified development areas by achieving the signed off development plan with the National Operations Manager and Head of Commercial Ensure that at all times, leadership is provided to Area Supervisors by setting an example of excellence Ensure that the Area Supervisors implement all team briefing in line with the communication planning process Ensure that the Area Supervisors are well trained on company/BAT systems, processes and procedures Ensuring effective performance management and ongoing development through the achievement of infield targets Management Results: Develop and Implement Regional Operational Plan in line with the Operational Strategy Develop and implement an operational coverage plan for the Region Consolidate data gathered by the Regional team to ensure that the National Operations Manager is fully informed at all times Ensure that all Area Supervisors apply internal control procedures in relation to the identification and resolution of cash and stock shortage discrepancies on a daily basis Manage budget for operational programmes for the Region Manage the productivity & cost optimisation of the Region through the achievement of productivity targets Implement and manage defined governance model in respect of: Planning and Execution (Monthly Regional Meetings and Cycle Planning Meetings). Committees (Market, SOP, HR) Regional Management Model Relationship Results: Internal: Work closely with the National Operations Manager and Compliance Manager to ensure the efficient deployment of sales targets Work closely with D2C regarding stock takes Work closely with Deployment Merchandising Co-ordinator External: Build and maintain relations with mall management within the region, as identified in conjunction with the National Operations Manager Innovation Results: Gather/ generate innovative ideas for enhancing operational programmes and develop solutions in overcoming obstacles to meeting all Regional Targets Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Matric or Equivalent 3 - 5 years' experience as a Manager of a Manager is required for this position Leading a team and people management is essential Data interpretation and analytical skills coupled with a high level computer literacy and skills in MS applications Aptitude to learn and understand new computer interventions quickly, united, with the ability to summarise large amounts of diverse data into actionable information Accuracy, with good written and verbal presentation skills combined with the above Ability to organise and prioritise multiple projects and associated tasks, while delivering on time and within budget Communication / Interpersonal skills - able to influence others Negotiating & Strategic Thinking Analytical and Quantitative skills Leads by setting a personal example of excellence Additional Requirements: - Flexible and able to work shifts, which include night work, weekends and public holidays (to be discussed) - Able to travel within division and Limpopo - Driver's License and own car Basic Salary - R36 000 Commission/Incentives for reaching Sales Targets - quarterly based on store targets (15% of basic for on target, 25% on stretch target) R3000 Car Allowance Cell phone (Data & Airtime package included)
